Little things like making sure that the shoe or boot fits firmly and snug, but not to the point of being uncomfortable or pinching (which are the first signs that it doesn’t fit correctly) is the first thing you should pay attention to.
Understanding also that you not only need the proper length, but the right width as well is crucial to getting the ideal fit. Anything worn with laces or latches should always be securely tied and fastened.
Maintenance and Grooming
Something else that can create major issues is not taking care of your feet regularly. Long or thick toenails can also hinder the fit of one’s shoes. Scrubbing and possibly using a loofah to remove dead skin in the shower, as well as applying lotion and moisturizers can help you avoid problems like dry and cracked skin, bunions and corns, and athlete’s foot.
