Plantar Fasciitis

If physical therapy, rest, anti-inflammatories, and cortisone injections have not helped your chronic pain related to tendinopathy, Tenex Health TX™ may be for you. This treatment has an 80 to 90 percent success rate at relieving pain, without performing open surgery.

Tenex Health TX™ is all about relieving pain from tendinopathy and soft tissue injuries. It uses fasciotomy and surgical tenotomy to eliminate scar tissue and relieve chronic tendon pain. This minimally invasive and non-surgical approach can help you get rid of your chronic pain and allow you to feel more comfortable in your day to day life.

Tenex Health TX™ can help with plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy, quadriceps tendinopathy, hip, and gluteal tendinopathy/bursitis, tennis and golfer's elbow, shoulder bursitis/calcific bursitis, and rotator cuff tendinopathy.

The Tenex Health TX™ procedure is performed in the Apex Sports and Regenerative Medicine office. We use local anesthesia on patients, and then use the TX1™ or TX2™ Tissue Removal System by Tenex Health. Ultrasound guidance helps us target the exact source of pain. Then, Dr. Savarino creates a small incision and inserts the toothpick sized tip of the tissue removal system into the targeted area. This tip emits ultrasonic energy and breaks down damaged scar tissue. This does not disturb the surrounding healthy tendon tissue and only takes 15 minutes to perform. There are no stitches required and recovery time takes only six weeks or less.
